A university student named Jannatul Hasin (23) has committed suicide by jumping from the roof of a building under construction in Comilla. The incident took place in the Dharmasagar area of the city on Tuesday afternoon. On Monday he went home from Dhaka.
Jannatul Hasin is the daughter of Idris Mehedi, a resident of Dharmasagar West Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).
The family of the murdered student said: ‘Hasin came to Comilla’s house from Dhaka on Monday. For some reason he was upset. He spoke less with family members. Hasin left the house on Tuesday afternoon to buy shampoo. He later committed suicide by jumping from the roof of a 9-story residential building under construction at Gold Silver Homes next door.
The office of the 10th Ward Councilor is next to the building under construction. Councilor Manzur Quader Moni said: ‘I was sitting in the office. Suddenly I heard a loud noise. I went out and saw a girl lying in a bloody state. ”
Kotwali Model Police Station OC Anwarul Haque said: “Jannatul Hasin is believed to have committed suicide after speaking with his parents. However, I am investigating if there is any other reason behind this incident. The body has been sent to the morgue of the Comilla Medical College for an autopsy.
