Before the start of the PSL (Pakistan Super League), Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal received a two-match repair. Umar did not agree to fix the match both times. However, according to the rules, he did not report to the Pakistan Cricket Board Anti-Corruption Unit (PCB). The PCB has prohibited Umar Akmal from violating the code of conduct for three years.
This news is getting old. However, former PCB president Najam Sethi raised an unknown problem for Umar Akmal. According to Najam Sethi, Umar Akmal was an epileptic patient. Although Sethi advised him to take treatment, Akmal did not accept it.
Najam Sethi told a local TV channel in Pakistan: “We were convinced of the doctor’s report that he (Umar Akmal) had epilepsy.” And after learning that we brought it from the West Indies tour. When I met him, I talked to him. I told him it was a serious problem. She needs to take a break from sports and seek medical attention for this disease. But he refused to accept it. He was in no condition to accept it.
Later, Najam Sethi did not intervene and said: “I will send the medical report to the selectors and leave the decision to them.” Because I didn’t want to interfere with his work myself. I kept him off the field for two months.
Najam Sethi brought up the subject of Umar Akmal’s illness, as well as his disciplinary problems. Najam Sethi, who was PCB president from 2013 to 2017, said: “Umar Akmal played for himself, he did not play for the team.” He is a very self-centered cricket player. He was indifferent to the discipline of the team, he never respected it. Such a ban was supposed to him. My fear is that he will not be able to return to the field (once the ban expires).
Umar Akmal, 29, has played 18 tests, 121 ODI and 64 T20I for Pakistan. Umar Akmal, owner of 56 international races, last played for Pakistan in March 2019, in ODI format.
