A student from Rajshahi University (UK) brought a case against a BCL leader alleging rape. He presented the case at Motihar Police Station in Rajshahi last Saturday night. The officer in charge (CO) of the ASM Siddiqur Rahman police station confirmed the matter.
The accused BCL leader, Ferdous Mohammad, is a fourth-year student in the marketing department of Shravan University and BCL’s secretary for human resource development.
According to the victim, Shravan met her in August 2019. He later raped her. If he wants to inform the administration, Shravan will marry him. She had an abortion in March 2020. Shravan doesn’t want to have a relationship with him now. Rather, Shravan threatens to spread small messages and images with him.
According to the accused BCL leader, there was a relationship between them at one point. That relationship once broke up. But there was no violation. He said he would file a libel suit against the student. He will deal with the matter legally.
Faisal Ahmed Runu, secretary general of the university’s student league, said the two were in a relationship. That relationship has been broken. Perhaps that is why the student has presented a case. However, if the accusation is proven, the Chhatra League will take organizational action against Shravan.
Motihar OC ASM Siddiqur Rahman Police Station said a case has been registered in this regard. The matter is being investigated.
