Two wounded in the attack on Chuadanga The first light

Two young men Parvez Hossain (20) and Jisan Ahmed (18) were injured in the attack while dancing in a function organized on the occasion of the ‘Thirty-First Night’ in the municipality of Chuadanga. The incident took place in Islampara Battala in Pavilion No. 5 around 10 pm on Thursday. Police arrested a man named Rajan in connection with the attack.

The injured Parvez is the son of the late Abdul Aziz from Islampara in District 5 and Jisan is the son of Togar Hossain from the same neighborhood. They are shop employees by profession. The injured Parvez was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Jisan to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

According to some eyewitnesses, local youth organized a celebration of the ‘Thirty-First Night’ in Islampara Battala to say goodbye to 2020 and welcome 2021. Singing, dancing and chatting started from the night. During the walk, a group of people accidentally stabbed Parvez and Jisan with sharp weapons. Two of the injured told police the names of the attackers.
Shakil Arsalan, a doctor at the Sadar Hospital emergency department, said Parvez and Jisan had numerous bruises all over their bodies, including their back and hands. Both have been sent to Medical College Hospital because their condition is critical.

The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Sadar Police Station, Abu Jihad Fakrul Alam Khan, said the identity of the attackers had been determined. An operation is underway to catch them.
