The Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka Jayantika and Upban intercity trains have received 27 new red-green coaches imported from Indonesia.
The new coach was spotted on the Jayantika intercity train that left Sylhet on Friday.
When the new bogie train arrived at different stations, curious people flocked.
According to railway sources, a total of 26 new replacement coaches have been inaugurated on the Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka railway route under the Eastern Railway Zone since Friday on 14 intercity Jayantika and Upban intercity trains. Each train has one air-conditioned cabin car, two air-conditioned saddle cars, eight elegant saddle cars, two lunch cars, and one electric coach.
Both the Jayantika and Upban trains have a total of 636 seats. There will be 18 AC seats, 110 AC chairs (soft) and 510 elegant seats.
The Upban intercity train (639 Up) leaves Dhaka for Sylhet at 8.30pm. On the other hand, depart Upban (640 down) from Sylhet to Dhaka at 11:30 pm. He finally arrived in Dhaka at 8:45 in the morning.
Jayantika’s weekly departure from Sylhet to Dhaka is closed on Thursdays and Jayantika’s departure from Dhaka to Sylhet is closed on Tuesdays.
On the other hand, the weekly closing of Upban leaving Sylhet towards Dhaka on Monday and the weekly closing of Upban leaving Dhaka towards Sylhet on Wednesday.
