According to sources from the Parliament’s Secretariat, the Parliamentary Commission of the Ministry of Food, Industry and Public Administration held only one meeting from January to November. At this time, only seven committees have met twice. These are the Parliamentary Committees of the Ministries of Finance, Local Government, Social Welfare, Planning, Information, Health and Religion.
Parliamentary Commissions for Science and Technology, Post and Telecommunications, Labor and Employment, Commerce, Agriculture, Electricity and Energy, Welfare for Expatriates and Employment Abroad, Primary and Mass Education, Road Transport and Bridges.
The Permanent Parliamentary Committee of the Ministries of Defense, Youth and Sports, Land, Education, Home, Fisheries and Livestock, Railways and Housing and Public Works held four meetings each. The Parliamentary Commission on Law, Culture, Water Resources and Disaster Relief and Management held five meetings each. The Parliamentary Commission for the Liberation War, Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held six meetings each.
One of the active commissions of this Parliament is the Parliamentary Commission of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. This committee has held seven meetings. The Parliamentary Commission for Women and Children and the Ministry of Navigation held eight meetings. Although it is not a ministerial committee, the Public Accounts Committee has held the most meetings this year, 13 of them.
