In Joypurhat, two people were arrested together with foreign pistols, bullets and chargers. They were arrested by members of the RAB-5 Joypurhat camp in the Shantinagar area of Joypurhat city on Saturday morning. They seized a foreign pistol, five bullets and a magazine, the RAB said.
The two are Seba Kumar Das, 35, son of Swapan Kumar Das from Sahebpara mahalla of Joypurhat Township and his associate Rabbi Hasan, 24, son of Belal Hossain from Bulupara mahalla.
RAB says that Seba is one of the members of the so-called extremist organization Kadamati Dal, based in Jayapurhat. There are 10 cases against him, including murder and robbery. On April 9, 2019, members of an extremist party surrendered to the Minister of the Interior in Pabna. There, members of the so-called Kadamati extremist organization in Joypurhat also surrendered and received incentive money. Seba Kumar Das’s name is at number eight on that list.
Camp Joypurhat RAB-5 Commander Additional Police Superintendent MM Mohaimenur Rashid said the operation was carried out on the basis of secret information that the arrested military men were in the Shantinagar area of the city. They were arrested with pistols, bullets and chargers. Additionally, drug paraphernalia was seized at the scene.
