Sources involved in the investigation of the case said that after watching the video of the beating of police officer Anisul Karim, the problems are being investigated. The accused in pretrial detention are giving random information. They are trying to blame each other. They claimed that Fatema Akhter used to call patients who came to the hospital for treatment after seeing the kind of problem. In the first case, everyone was beaten and weakened. Later doctors were brought in from abroad and shown.
In most cases, Fatema used to give medical advice to the patient. He studied psychology and later earned a bachelor’s degree in medical psychology, police said. However, Fatema was unable to show any certificate of her title.
The eight people now in police custody are Arif Mahmud, Mind Aid Hospital marketing director, coordinator Redwan Sabbir, suspected pharmacist Tanvir Hasan, Wardboy Jobayer Hossain, Tanif Mollah, Sajeeb Chowdhury, Liton Ahmed, and Saiful Islam.
Anisul was admitted to Mind Aid Hospital in Adabar for mental problems. He died within minutes of admission. According to the family, he was beaten to death by hospital staff after admission.
CCTV footage also showed police officers being led into a room shortly after admission and beaten by hospital staff.
