Police arrested two Madrasa teachers for allegedly raping two student boys at Al Ehsan Nurani and Hefz Madrasa in the Shyamoli (Garur Hat) area of the Ghatail municipal area of Tangail.
The two victims were students from Al Ehsan Nurani Madrasa in Paschimpara, Ghatail.
The arrested madrasa teachers are Ramizul, 22, the son of Hekam Ali from Sharifpur village in Gopalpur upazila and Khairul, 22, son of Tara Miah from Nikrail village in Bhunapur upazila. They were sent to jail after making a confessional statement in court.
Police and locals said two students from the madrasa, Ramizul and Khairul, raped two students in the custody of Paschimpara Madrasa in the Ghatail municipal area on Thursday morning. The matter was reported to the parents of the two children. Later, the parents informed the police. The police raided the madrasa and arrested two teachers.
The victim’s father filed a case with the Ghatail Police Station under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act.
The tutor of one of the raped students said: “My son, a victim of the incident, fled the madrasa in fear and took refuge in his grandmother’s house.” Upon hearing the news, my wife and I went there. Because if you want to know, I won’t go to the madrasa as a boy. The lord has done bad things to me. If you send me to the madrasa, I will jump off the roof and die.
Said the Ghatail Police Deputy Inspector (SI). Matiur Rahman said the family filed a complaint with the police when the raped children informed the family about the abuse. The accused teachers Ramizul and Khairul were later arrested in the madrasa. A case has been filed with the Ghatail Police Station under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act. They have been sent to jail after making a confessional statement in court.
