Massive uproar at the White House meeting
Elections in the United States are not over. Instead, President Donald Trump is still trying to figure out how to stay in power. That is why he is also thinking of imposing a military regime. However, a meeting of campaign and advisory team members in the Oval Office of the White House last Friday sparked a lot of controversy. Most advisers and officials have strongly opposed President Trump’s thinking. Several officials and advisers withdrew during the meeting. However, it is unclear whether President Trump will go ahead with the plan. CNN and the New York Times named two people involved in the meeting.
President Donald Trump has yet to admit defeat. In a recent interview with the conservative Newsmax channel, his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, advised President Trump to impose martial law and deploy troops to stay in power. The heated situation erupted when President Trump raised the issue at a meeting of advisers and officials on Friday. Most of the advisers present at the meeting opposed this idea.
At that meeting, the advisers also opposed plans to appoint Sidney Powell, a lawyer for the president’s election team, as special adviser to investigate allegations of voter fraud in the Nov. 3 election. They said Sydney Powell has so far been unable to provide any evidence despite allegations of voter fraud. Most of their cases have been dismissed in court. White House attorney Pat A. Cipolne and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows strongly criticized the idea. Cipolene told Trump that the issues discussed had no constitutional mandate. Members of the White House and Trump’s campaign team said the same thing.
Sydney Powell has developed a conspiracy theory of massive fraud in the American elections. Trump is still talking about it. Trump said he has already given Powell “security clearance” to begin work. When other advisers objected at the meeting, Powell called them “pariahs.” Powell’s spokesman declined to comment.
Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the November 3 presidential election with more than 6 million votes. He received 306 votes from the electoral college. On the other hand, Trump obtained 232 votes. But Trump did not agree to accept defeat because of advisers and supporters like Sidney Powell.
On the other hand, the meeting also discussed the issue of issuing an executive order to control the voting machines and test them. On the other hand, Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, asked the Department of Homeland Security to take control of the voting machines. But they told Juliani that the Department of Homeland Security did not have the authority to do so. Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani reportedly joined the meeting by phone.
