The verdict in a seven-year-old child rape case will be released on Monday, a week after the allegations were made. Bagerhat Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-2 Court Judge and Sessions Judge. Noor Alam will announce the verdict.
Earlier on Sunday, after hearing the arguments of both parties, the judge set the date of the verdict today. In this way, a new precedent will be set in the country’s judicial power. Because, this is the first time in the country that a delicate criminal case such as child rape has been tried in such a short time.
Confirming the information, Gopal Chandra Pal, a bank assistant at Bagerhat’s 2 Suppression of Abuse of Women and Children Court, said that no lower court in the country has completed a criminal case in such a short time.
According to the details of the case, a seven-year-old fatherless boy was growing up in his uncle’s house in the Makardhon Asrayan project area of Mongla upazila de Bagerhat. On the afternoon of October 3, Abdul Mannan Sardar, 53, a shelter resident, took the boy home and raped him, showing a lust for chocolate and cookies. Later that night, when the incident came to light, the girl’s uncle filed a lawsuit against Abdul Mannan under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act at the Mongla Police Station and the police arrested Mannan .
The investigating officer in the case, Deputy Inspector (SI) of the Mongla Police Station, Biswajit Mukherjee, filed a charge sheet against Abdul Mannan on October 11 after discovering the truth about the rape.
Gopal Chandra Pal, a bench clerk at Bagerhat Suppression of Abuse of Women and Children Court 2, said the case was a delicate one and that the Judicial Magistrates Court referred the case to the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Court 2. The court judge learned of the case on October 11 and filed charges the following day. On October 13, a total of 18 plaintiffs testified. On October 14, the testimony of the doctors, judicial magistrates, policewomen and the investigator of the case was taken. On October 15, Safai testified in support of the accused. The judge announced the verdict on Monday after a lengthy hearing of arguments between the plaintiffs and the defendants.
