Health Minister Zahid Malek opened the hospital as Covid-19 Hospital on Sunday. Starting today, the hospital will be used to treat Kovid-19 disease until at least October.

Speaking at the inaugural function, the Minister of Health said that Holy Family Hospital has all the facilities to provide treatment with Covid-19. The 600 to 500 beds in this hospital have been allocated for Kovid-19 patients only. There are enough qualified and experienced doctors, nurses and staff. At the same time, there are 10 ICUs, seven ventilators, seven dialysis machines, and other necessary equipment. There are over 75 cabins.

The health minister said an additional 16 laboratories would be established in the country to detect the coronavirus, adding that the country initially had only one sample analysis laboratory. The government has now established 35 laboratories. More than five thousand samples are analyzed every day. If 16 laboratories are established sooner, the number of tests may reach 8-10 thousand per day. At least one laboratory will be established soon at Holy Family Hospital.

On May 8, a memorandum of understanding was signed to launch the hospital as Kovid-19. Initially, the contract will run until October. However, if the crown outbreak does not decrease, the contract can be extended even further.
