Two leaders of the BNP National Standing Committee, another highly influential leader and a deputy general secretary are retiring from the party-formed Subarna Jayanti National Committee. According to reliable sources, one of the leaders of the standing committee has resigned. One leader did not attend the opening ceremony and some did not. However, the main reason for staying locked up is not giving Khaleda Zia the proper status. The intensity of the explosion that has been created within the party is increasing.

According to party lawmakers, Khaleda Zia was held captive by Pakistanis during the liberation war; That is why BNP lawmakers think that he too is a freedom fighter. But his photo was not on the banner of the golden anniversary of independence, which has caused outrage among many. Many have wondered how it is possible.

Many people think that Begum Zia’s name has been dropped to keep BNP Senior Vice President Tarique Rahman happy as his name cannot be kept. Despite the reaction between the BNP and its related party, the followers of Tarique Rahman think that the matter is normal.

There is widespread anger among grassroots activists, including the central government, at the lack of images on the banner. The fight continues through social media. Expressing anger after the ceremony, BNP President’s press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan wrote in a Facebook status: “This is a different kind of BNP that has changed. Everything is there, everyone is there, not just the photo and the name of Begum Khaleda Zia. Even during this time of great famine, many were present at the lavish ceremony held at the Lakeshore Hotel to mark the auspicious inauguration of the Independence Day Golden Jubilee. However, despite the BNP’s invitation, President Sheikh Hasina and the leaders of the Awami League and the leaders of Jamaat were absent because they were not invited.

It emerged that a member of the standing committee decided to remove his name from the Subarna Jayanti committee as the name of the party chairman was not mentioned on the banner at the inaugural function. He has already resigned. The party’s deputy general secretary, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, has boycotted the event. So far he has not been seen in any program. When asked, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said: “I am busy with other organizational activities of the party.”

BNP Deputy Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain said in our time: “We also do not know why the photo of the lady was not on the banner of the inauguration ceremony of Subarna Jayanti.” Many of us who do politics with grassroots leaders want to know. But I cannot give any answer. But I’m trying to figure out the matter.

Several leaders said that many senior party leaders were not invited to the Golden Jubilee celebrations. Some leaders received invitations just before the ceremony.

One leader said that he had been invited in a way that made him feel disrespectful. So he didn’t go to the ceremony. The leader said: “You can find out that Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of the standing committee, was also sitting in a chair in the third row at the opening ceremony.” Another member of the standing committee, Mirza Abbas, held the unimportant seat. Although I tried to contact the two leaders by phone, I could not find them.

When contacted by a member of the BNP’s standing committee on the issue, he said that the party’s founder, Ziaur Rahman, was supposed to have photos of the president and the incumbent president on all shows of the Subarna Jayanti celebrations. We do not know why the banner was not there. She is the convenor of the National Committee to celebrate the golden anniversary. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Member Secretary Abdus Salam will be able to speak.

In this regard, Abdus Salam, secretary member of the National Committee for the Celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Independence and advisor to the president of BNP, told the media that Ziaur Rahman refers to the history of the War of Liberation. Bangladesh means Zia. So I just wanted to focus on Zia on the occasion of the golden anniversary of independence. For this reason, the image of the party president was not used. For the same reason, the image of Acting President Tareq Rahman was not used. Other than that, we wanted this show to be public, not partisan. That’s why I used the photo of Zia.

Regarding Salam’s statement, a BNP vice president said: “They were the ones who conspired in One-Eleven.” They wanted to go ahead with Ziaur Rahman at the helm minus Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.

The leader further said that there is a leader in the Subarna Jayanti celebration committee who wanted to be the president of BNP at One-Eleven. He had sent a list of 60 leaders to the then army chief Moin U Ahmed with the aim of forming a party under his leadership. That letter was later delivered to Madam (Khaleda Zia) by any means. But he forgave them. Their fear is that the formula has started again. Since Tareq Rahman is out, Madam is also seeking treatment. A deputy secretary general said he thought some of the Golden Jubilee leaders would be active in the One-Eleven process if Madame went out for treatment.

However, the national committee leaders said that an ornament with the photo of Khaleda Zia was presented at the entrance of the Lexor Hotel at the opening ceremony of the one-year program. Prayers were offered for the president at the beginning of the opening ceremony. His unconditional release was demanded. A documentary on Khaleda Zia was screened at the event, skillfully portraying her colorful political life, her struggle for democracy and the country. Acting Party Chairman Tareq Rahman opened the party-published procession on the occasion of Subarna Jayanti.

A BNP deputy general secretary, who attended the function, said it was difficult to accept that the banner did not have a picture of the lady.

“I was also present at the opening ceremony,” said one leader. I have heard many people say without seeing the photo of the head of the party on the banner, then the BNP has forgotten about Khaleda Zia. If your image is deliberately omitted from the banner, it is one thing, and if it is not planned, it is an unforgivable crime. For this, the standing committee of the party can apologize to the national committee. He further said that after going to jail, a chair was kept empty in various ceremonies honoring the Lady (Khaleda Zia). At least one chair could have been left empty at the opening ceremony of the Golden Jubilee of Independence.

However, in the face of the tough stance of the two members of the standing committee and criticism from party leaders and workers, it has been decided to post photographs of the late founding chairman of the party, Ziaur Rahman, the chairwoman Khaleda Zia and the chairman in Tareq functions. Rahman on the banners of all celebrations throughout the year. Not only that, it has also been decided to invite important leaders to each event. The photographs of the three were also used in the banner of the second day program “Independence Flag Day” at the National Press Club.
