Mourning continues at the home of six people who died in a traffic accident in Manikganj, Nagarpur, Tangail. On Friday (December 4) morning, six family members, including Dada Harekrishna, left Nagarpur in a GNC autorickshaw to see their granddaughter Radhe at Manikganj Sadar Hospital. Six people, including two women from the same family, were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and an autorickshaw in the Mulkandi area on the Ghior-Daulatpur regional highway at around 2.30pm.

The deceased have been identified as Harekrishna Badyakar (50), son of the late Nitai Badyakar from the Chashavadra village in Nagarpur upazila, his son Govinda Badyakar (28), the wife of Govinda Babita Badyakar (25), his daughter Radhe Badyakar (4) and Govinda Khuki Badikar’s grandmother (60). Dharma’s father-in-law, Ramprasad Badyakar, 35, son of the late Juran Badyakar from the same area, and GNC driver Jamal Sheikh, 30, son of Sadar Ali from Sametpur village in Daulatpur upazila.

According to locals, Harekrishna Badyakar went out to the doctor with her relatives for the treatment of her ill granddaughter on Friday afternoon. They rented a CNG autorickshaw from Daulatpur to Manikganj. In the afternoon, a Village Line Transport passenger bus collided head-on with an autorickshaw as it reached the Mulkandi area of ​​Daulatpur on the Tangail-Aricha regional highway. The autorickshaw is twisted. All seven died on the spot.

The police officer in charge of Daulatpur (OC) confirmed the incident. Rezaul Karim said the dead were all passengers in an auto rickshaw. Their bodies have been transferred to the Upazila Health Complex. The bus was impounded in the incident. However, the driver and his assistant escaped. A case is being prepared at the police station.
