The verdict in the murder case of the child Khandaker Samiul Azim Wafi (5) in Adabar, the capital, is today. Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam of Dhaka 4 Court of Special Judges will deliver the verdict.
Two defendants in the murder case of the boy Samiul. They are Samiul’s mother, Ayesha Humaira alias Esha (25) and her alleged boyfriend Shamsuzzaman Bakku (38).
The defendant Humaira used to appear regularly in court on bail. Another defendant, Shamsuzzaman, escaped from High Court on bail.
PP Farooquzzaman said they wanted the death penalty so much for the defendants.
On June 24, Samiul’s body was recovered from the Naboday Housing area of Adabar in a packed state. KA Azam, the father of the murdered boy, filed a murder case with the Adabar police station on June 24.
According to the case, Samiul was kidnapped and killed on June 23, 2010 after witnessing the romance between Humaira and Shamsuzzaman. Samiul’s father, KR Azam, filed a murder case with the Adabar police station.
After investigating the case, an indictment was filed against Humaira and Shamsuzzaman on October 25 of the following year. The charges were brought against the two defendants on February 1, 2012.
The court set the verdict date as November 23.
