This time, since there is no opportunity to file returns online, everyone has to go to tax offices in different parts of the country in person or file returns through tax attorneys. Only taxpayers in tax zone 6 have the opportunity to pay taxes online.
This time the income of many taxpayers has decreased in Corona. As a result, many are less interested in return deposits. Given this, the deadline for filing the return of one month on November 30 was extended until December 31. However, the day before (November 29), the president of the NBR called a press conference and announced that the time for the presentation of statements would not be extended. As a result, a crowd of contributors were seen on the last day. The next day, however, the NBR was extended once.
Despite this, the NBR has not been able to break with the old practice of announcing the extension on the last day. In India, the deadline for filing returns is November 30, but about a month ago, the country’s direct tax authorities announced an increase.
There are currently 52 lakh 72 thousand holders of Tax Identification Numbers (TIN). It has given more than 1.5 million returns as of November 30. The NBR has not finalized the number of returns filed in December.
An average of 20-22 lakh returns are sent each year. If a NIF holder cannot file the declaration within the stipulated time, the assignment can be extended to the Commissioner in a matter of two to four months for reasonable reasons. For that, of course, a monthly interest of 2 percent must be calculated on the prescribed tax.
