A businessman named Zakir Hossain Chowdhury presented the case in the court of Dhaka’s first joint district judge, Utpal Bhattacharya, on Tuesday.

After leaving the police station, Bachchu Mia was admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital. On May 16, she took a letter from a student from the hospital and asked the police headquarters for a trial for torture. The investigation was handed over to SP Ziaul Haque.

He filed an investigative report because he did not find the allegations to be true.

The plaintiff’s lawyer, Mainuddin, told bdnews24.com that a police source in Gopalganj had brought a bogus case against Bachchu and his wife Sahida after they filed a complaint with the police. His brother Zakir Hossain brought a case against Bachchu claiming that he had lost 5 million rupees due to the police report against him even after the torture.
