Tian-i left the Padma Bridge
Floating crane ‘Tian-e’

Munshiganj: The 41 spans have been installed on the 42 piers of the Padma Bridge. Across this 6.15 km long Padma bridge is now visible.

Until now, the floating crane has carried the sections of the Mawa construction yard and placed them on pillars in the Padmanabha. The last span of the bridge was laid on December 10 by the world’s largest floating crane ‘Tian-e’. Its load capacity is 4 thousand tons.

And due to its efficiency, local and foreign engineers did not have to rush to install the span. This floating crane came to Bangladesh from China. Now that all the spans have been installed, Tian-i has gone where it came from.

The floating crane left Mawa Construction Yard in Munshiganj’s Louhjong Upazila for China around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday (December 13). You will return to your destination through the Chittagong port.

According to the engineers, 41 spans have been installed on 42 pillars. Due to the efficiency of the floating crane, there were no major difficulties in placing the spans. Laying a span didn’t even have to be a minor accident. Tian-e used to take the Mawa leg the day before to place the leg on the pillars at the end of Jazira. The next day the openings were placed on the pillars. And most of the pillars at the end of Mawa were extended in one day. With the help of local and foreign engineers and workers, it has become easy to install the span with the floating crane.
