Dhaka: Abdul Malek (62), Mizan Hossain Nizam (40) and Nadim (45) were killed in an air conditioning blast at a mosque in Narayanganj. The death toll has risen to 21.
On Saturday night (September 5), resident surgeon of the National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery Sheikh Hasina. Perth Shankar Pal confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said Abdul Malek, Mizan Hossain Nizam and Nadeem died while receiving treatment at night. So far, 21 people have been killed in the air conditioning blast at the mosque.
The bodies of 18 people killed in the explosion have been handed over to their families without an autopsy since 3 p.m. Saturday. Narayanganj Sadar Upazila, Executive Officer (UN), Nahida Barik and Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) said. Jahed Parvez Chowdhury handed over the body to his relatives.
Earlier on Friday (September 4) at 9:15 pm, an air conditioning explosion took place at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque in the western part of Fatullah in Narayanganj. After that, 36 burned people were admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Institute. Of these, 21 died while receiving treatment at the hospital. The condition of the rest of the faithful is also alarming.
