Patgram OC Sumon Kumar Mahanta Police Station said the murder case was brought by the family of the deceased in three cases. A case of vandalism of government facilities has been filed on behalf of the president of Union Parishad. Meanwhile, the body parts of the deceased that were recovered will be handed over to the family after the autopsy.

According to local journalists, the CID and intelligence officials have already visited the site to find out who had brought charges of religious insult against the deceased on the day of the incident. They are working to collect the first signs of the murder at the scene.

Shahidunnabi Jewel, a friend of the deceased, went to Burimari Central Jame Mosque in Patgram Upazila on Thursday afternoon and got into a fight with locals.

At one point, the mosque worshipers began to beat them, accusing them of insulting religion.

The local administration rescued the two and brought them to the Union Parishad office, but thousands of people gathered outside and smashed the door, entered the top of the wall and began to knock again.

Police rescued a man, but the mob began beating Jewel, dragging her body onto the road and setting her on fire.
