Three autorickshaw passengers were killed when a bus hit them in Sylhet

SYLHET: Three passengers in a CNG-powered autorickshaw were killed when a bus collided head-on with a bus on the Golapganj upazila of Sylhet. The dead were the three men. Two others were seriously injured in the incident.

The accident took place at 10:15 am on Saturday (August 29) in the Chowghari area of ​​Golapganj Sadar Union.

Witnesses said that a passenger bus left Sylhet for Baralekha. At that point, the bus reached the Chowghari area of ​​Golapganj Sadar Union and struck an autorickshaw. The autorickshaw twisted and 3 people were killed on the spot. Two more people were seriously injured in the accident. They were rescued by locals and sent to the hospital.

Golapganj Model Police Officer-in-Charge (CO) Mohammad Harunur Rashid Chowdhury confirmed the information to banglanews and said three people were killed in the accident. They are all men. Two serious people have been sent to hospital for this incident.

Meanwhile, traffic on the highway was closed for about half an hour after the accident. Subsequently, the vehicles were removed from the road and traffic normalized.

The bodies were recovered and sent to the morgue at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, the OC said.
