Police arrested three people for setting fire to a bus in Naya Paltan, the capital, after viewing CCTV footage. One of them was named the mastermind of the incident, but no one’s name was immediately released. Motijheel (AC) Area Police Deputy Commissioner Zahidul Islam Zahid confirmed the arrest to the media on Friday evening.

AC Zahid said that three people, including Mastermind, were arrested after seeing CCTV footage of a burning bus in Naya Paltan, the capital, on November 12. Details will be announced later at a press conference at the DC office in the Motijheel area.

The criminals set fire to nine buses in Nayapaltan, Gulistan, in front of the Aziz Super Market, on the north side of the Secretariat, Nayabazar in Old Dhaka, Paltan, Motijheel and Bhatara between 12 noon and 4:30 pm on 12 November. Three of the buses that caught fire were from the government. According to the police, the first fire occurred on a government bus parked on the north side of the BNP headquarters in Naya Paltan around 12 noon.
