Education Minister Dipu Moni told a virtual press conference on Tuesday that on the first day of the year, all educational institutions in the country participated in the book festival. It has become a great festival.

“I will not deliver the books to all students on the same day considering the health and safety risks of the students. Because we cannot hold public rallies at all.”

Instead, Dipu Moni said he plans to set aside three days for book distribution for each class. Students from each class will come for three days (at school).

“Students from the same class will come in three days and take the books in three days,” he said.

Minister of State for Primary and Mass Education. Zakir Hossain said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate the book distribution program at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center on December 31.

“We have completed preparations to deliver the books to the students on January 1. I urge everyone to ensure the safety of the students in the book distribution.”

The state’s mass education minister did not say how the books would be delivered to primary school students.

This time, 35 million rupees books will be distributed free of charge to primary and secondary level students.

The government led by the Awami League has been celebrating the first day of the year since 2010 and handing out new books to students.

In the last 11 years, 36 crore 7 lakh 8 thousand 57 books have been distributed free of charge.
