On Thursday night (November 12), 17 upazila officials, including UNO Mansur Uddin, filed a written complaint against the upazila president with the deputy commissioner. According to the written complaint, the president of Aditmari Upazila Parishad, Farooq Imrul Kayes, has violated the rules and regulations since his election. She demanded her share of the money allocated to the beneficiaries of various Upazila Parishad programs – VGD, maternity allowance, agricultural incentives, social security. When he protested, he verbally abused the officer and threatened to beat him. At the last monthly coordination meeting on November 12, Farooq Imrul claimed her participation in the VGD list and maternity allowance. The UNO rejected it for not being legal. Enraged, he left the meeting unfinished. Farooq Imrul then ordered his people to open the CCTV cameras at the UN office. When asked why, he insulted UNO in vulgar language.
