Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran navy, said his country will launch new warships with drones, helicopters and missiles next November. He said the ship is being built entirely with indigenous technology.

Admiral Khanzadi made the remarks in a speech at a ceremony in the southern Iranian port city of Abbas on Tuesday. He said the new warship was named the “Persian Gulf” and would be added to the Iranian navy in November.

The Iranian commander said the new warship could travel around the world three times on fuel. Khanzadi added that the maritime ‘Dina’ would be added to the Iranian navy a few months after the launch of the new warship. In addition, the Iranian navy will inaugurate the first minesweeper next month.
