The chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces, Major General Mohammad Bakeri, has called for heavy revenge for the murder of prominent nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. He warned that Tehran would take “severe revenge” for the murder of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
In a message late Friday, Mohammad Bakeri announced that another Iranian scientist had been brutally assassinated by terrorists hired by the world imperialist power and the Satanist Zionist government.
Referring to Fakhrizadeh as one of the top managers of Iran’s defense industry, General Bakeri said that he had made significant contributions to bring Iran’s defense capabilities to the current level.
The Iranian military chief added that the enemy must know that the path shown by Fakhrizadeh will never be closed.
Earlier, Major General Hussein Salami, commander-in-chief of the country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), threatened to retaliate for the assassination of prominent nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
Iran’s Defense Ministry said in a statement on Friday that a car carrying Mohsin Fakhrizadeh, head of the ministry’s research and innovation agency, had been targeted by armed terrorists.
The statement added that clashes broke out between his bodyguards and the terrorists. Fakhrizadeh was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital. The medical staff did their best to save him, but unfortunately they failed and he died.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Javed Zarif condemned Fakhrizadeh’s assassination. He indicated that Israel was behind the attack.
