This time, Bangladesh Chhatra League has demanded to secure accommodation for Dhaka University (DU) students before taking the final year and graduate exams. The organization made this demand in a press release sent to the media on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier in the meeting of the University Academic Council, as it was not possible to provide residential facilities to the students in the existing situation, it was decided that the department / institute in question would conduct various examinations ensuring communication and assistance with the respective students.

The notification stated that students’ exams in the course / midterm / tutorials will be taken on the online / oral / take-home assignment system and it was reported that the final year honors and masters exams will be taken carried out with priority as of December 26. Students will be able to know the corresponding exam calendar of their respective departments / institutes. For the convenience of the students, the exams will be held at comparatively shorter intervals or two exams on the same day. The duration of the test will be half the existing scheduled time. Similarly, laboratory-focused practical tests will be taken.

Sanjit Chandra Das, chairman of the BCL branch of Dhaka University, and Saddam Hussein, secretary general, said in a statement that the Academic Council had set the date for the final year of graduation and postgraduate studies without guaranteeing residential facilities for the students. students. Deciding to take the exam as soon as possible is important in resolving the session jam and student participation in competitive exams. But such a decision without ensuring the accommodation of the students is unilateral, contrary to the interests of the students, an inappropriate solution in the existing reality and in no case parental. For most college students, especially women and children from low-income families, this is clearly undesirable and beyond financial means in coronal reality.

The university administration’s proposal did not reflect students ‘views, did not ensure student participation in the decision-making process, and did not protect students’ right to remain in the hallway, according to the statement. The Chhatra League of Dhaka University is responsible in the traditional education-peace-progress style for students in general to overcome this crisis-obstacle.

The organization’s leaders said that opening the room for examinees, ensuring health protection, taking the correct design and taking exams at different levels is a realistic, equitable and good solution for public university status. We urge the university administration to immediately change its decision, open the room in light of the interests and expectations of the students, and take all necessary steps to ensure the health of the students.

They said that in Prime Minister Desaratna Sheikh Hasina’s ongoing struggle to build the golden Bengal of Nation Father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s dream, the Chhatra League of Dhaka University is always determined to lead Arun Prat’s youth team for the better education and employment of its students.
