The retired deputy inspector (SI) of the police and the third defendant in the case Nandadulal Rakshita has given a confessional statement under article 164 in court after the third pre-trial detention in the murder case of retired major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.

Defendant Nandadulal was presented in the court of Cox’s Bazar Chief Judge Tamanna Farah at around 10:30 am Monday. Subsequently, the judge recorded the defendant’s confessional statement under article 164 in his private room. Nandadulal testified for five hours. Earlier, he was taken to the Sadar District Hospital for a medical check-up. Later he was sent to jail.

Later, the investigating officer on the case, RAB Khairul Islam’s Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police (ASP), told the media: “Nandadulal Sinha has presented a detailed account of the murder in court. Hopefully you’ve admitted the truth in court. The defendant Nandadulal, in RAB custody, admitted that he had shot Inspector Liaquat Sinha with his weapon.

Earlier on Sunday, the main defendant in the case, the fired inspector Liaquat Ali, gave a confessional statement.

Retired Commander Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was shot dead by Police Officer Liaquat Ali at the Shamlapur checkpoint at Baharchhara Union on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive around 10:30 pm on July 31, the day before. of Eid-ul-Azha. After the incident, the police filed two cases at the Teknaf Police Station. And Ramu filed a case at the police station.

Later, on August 5, Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, older sister of Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan, filed a murder case in the Cox’s Bazar Superior Magistrates Court. Nine people were charged with this. The defendants are Teknaf Pradeep Kumar Das Police Officer-in-Charge (CO), Retired Inspector of Teknaf Liakat Ali’s Baharchhara Shamlapur Police Research Center, Deputy Inspector (SI) Nandadulal Rakshit, Deputy Deputy Inspector (ASI) Liton Miahl, Abdullah Al Mamun, Md. Mostafa and SI Tutul. Among the accused, Mostafa and Tutul are at large.

Cox’s Bazar Senior Judge Mohammad Helal Uddin ordered the preventive detention of OC Pradeep Kumar Das, Inspector Liaquat Ali and SI Nandadulal Rakshit, who were dismissed in the first phase on August 8, for seven days.

On August 24, Cox’s Bazar Senior Magistrate Magistrate Tamanna Farah granted the defendant a four-day pretrial detention. The same court granted them preventive detention in the third phase on August 28.

Today, the court granted Pradeep a day of preventive detention in the fourth phase.

A total of 13 people have been arrested in this case. Among them are three members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN). They are Assistant Deputy Inspector (ASI) Shahjahan, Agent Mohammad Abdullah, and Agent Rajib. All three made confessional statements under section 164 in court. They were on duty at the checkpoint on the day of the incident.

The other three defendants are witnesses in two cases brought by the police, a Marishbunia area resident of the Baharchhara union of Teknaf upazila Md. Nurul Amin, Md. Nezamuddin and Mohammad Ayash.

In addition, two accomplices of Sinha Rashed, Shahedul Islam Sifat and another accomplice Shipra Debnath are released on bail in the case brought by the police.
