Mia Alauddin said: ‘Even before Corona, we had a good movie crisis here. And after Corona, the situation is worse. The hall was opened with high hopes. But nobody is interested in releasing the movie. Movies are released all over the world now if we deal with Corona. But all of us here have finished the construction and decorated the house.
Don’t you think how to run the hall without a movie? Therefore, considering the situation, arrangements are being made to import Bollywood movies. There is no denying that our content is in crisis. We, the hallway owners from all over the country, have agreed that we will bring pictures from India.
Previously, old Hindi movies were released under the SAFTA agreement. However, this time the owners want Bollywood or Kolkata movies from India to be released in Bangladesh on the same day.
Iftekhar Uddin Nowshad, former president of the Bangladesh Hall Owners Association, also agreed to the plan. He said, ‘If you want to save the room, you need good content. All the famous and expensive movie theaters in the world have closed in Corona. Here we are also in a bad situation. Bringing in new Indian movies can be viewed on an experimental basis to see if we can save. If there is no positive response from the audience, the Bollywood movie release will stop.
Mia Alauddin said the films will be imported by members of the producers association. This approval will not be given to anyone other than the producers. Then there will be chaos. If everything is finalized in this regard, details about the policy, import and release procedure and the price of tickets will be given.
