This time, the mother and daughter were gang-raped when they were going to rob a house in Chunarughat upazila de Habiganj. The incident took place on Friday night (October 2) in a mountainous area of Ranigaon Union in upazila.
On Saturday (October 3), a case was filed at the Chunarughat Police Station. However, the police were unable to arrest those involved in the incident until Sunday (October 4) afternoon.
According to the file and the police, a group of young men entered a house near the Garamchari Mazar forest in the mountainous area of Ranigaon Union in Chunarughat Upazila on Friday night.
They entered the house and tied up mother and daughter. Subsequently, the youths looted gold jewelry, money, cows, and other necessities. After the looting, they gang-raped the mother (45) and daughter (25) and fled.
When the robbers left, the neighbors came yelling at mother and daughter. Neighbors rescued them and gave them first aid.
Local UP member Abdul Malek said the thieves had gang-raped the mother and daughter by looting gold jewelry and money. The victims have identified a young man from the gang. That is why they have presented a case.
Confirming the incident, the police officer in charge of Chunarughat (OC-Investigation) Champak Dham said that the mother and daughter had been gang-raped after going to rob the house. A case has been filed in this regard.
“We have kept the names and addresses secret in order to arrest the defendants in the case,” he said. The matter will be investigated and those involved in the incident will be arrested soon.
On the night of September 25, a housewife was gang-raped while walking with her husband at MC College. The husband of the housewife filed a case at the Shahparan Police Station. Three other unidentified leaders and activists of the Chhatra League were charged in the case. Eight people have been arrested in the incident.
