French magazine Shirley Abdo published a cartoon on Wednesday mocking and disrespecting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Senior Turkish officials have condemned the incident as a flagrant attempt to spread cultural racism and hatred.

The Cartoon on the Prophet (PBUH) has rekindled tensions between Turkey and France with a cartoon on Erdogan.
Erdogan’s spokesman, Ibrahim Kalin, said: “I strongly condemn the publication of our president in a French magazine. They have no respect for any religion, sanctity or values.
He further said that they have shown their wickedness and immorality. The injury to personal rights cannot be a joke or freedom of expression.
Fahretin Altun, communications adviser to the Turkish president, said Macron’s anti-Muslim agenda was beginning to bear fruit. I condemn this disturbing attempt to spread cultural racism and hatred.
Macron spoke vigorously about defending the country’s secular values as opposed to radical Islam. He also said that France would not stop showing cartoons.
His comments elicited negative reactions from Muslims around the world. In Islamic tradition, it is clearly forbidden to display any image of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Allah. All of this is considered a felony.
Erdogan harshly criticized Macron for failing to respect freedom of religion and disrespecting millions of Muslims in France.
Erdogan has called on the public to boycott French products over a dispute with Macron over Islam.
Earlier Sunday, several French products, including beauty products made in France, were removed from displays at some supermarkets in Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait.
A major Kuwaiti retail association has also ordered a boycott of French products.
