Maulana Mahmudul Hasan has been elected Chairman of the Befaq Education Board of the Qawmi Madrasa of Bangladesh, which was left vacant after the death of Allama Ahmad Shafi.
He was elected president of BEFAC by direct vote of those responsible at a meeting held at the BEFAC office at Bhanga Press in Jatrabari on Saturday. Previously, he was vice president of Befaq.
Extremely anti-propaganda and always against the grain, this academic has suddenly been elected president of Befaq and has shocked the entire Qaumi arena.
Since the president’s election, his name has been spoken by the media and social media across the country, especially among the educated people of the Madrasa.
Interested people think that he has earned this reputation by avoiding all kinds of controversies and secretly building people. He has been working in seclusion for almost 50 years to develop madrasa education and spread Islam.
Maulana Mahmud was born on July 5, 1950 in the village of Charkharicha in Mymensingh Sadar. Father Ghalib Uddin Ahmad Mother Fatima Ramzani.
After studying at Balia Madrasa in Mymensingh, Jamia Islamia Momenshahi, Jamia Imdadia Kishoreganj and Lalbagh Madrasa in Dhaka, they completed Hadith (Master) at Daora, the highest class of education in Binnuri city, Pakistan.
From the city of Binnuri he obtained a special title in Fiqh, Hadith and Tafsir.
He received hadith certificates from world-renowned scholars, including Allama Yusuf Binnuri, Allama Idris Mirathi, Allama Shaykh Wali Hasan, and Allama Hedayatullah.
In just 28 days, Maulana Mahmudul Hasan memorized the Holy Quran and put his signature of extraordinary talent and keen memory.
The renowned scholar entered his career as Jamia Farooqia’s senior muhaddith in Pakistan. It is currently the Khatib of Gulshan Central Mosque and Eidgah Society. Jamia Islamia Darul Uloom Madania Jatrabari, Director of Dhaka and Shaykhul Hadith.
He is the founder of more than one hundred Islamic educational institutions in different parts of the country, including Dhaka. At least a few hundred Islamic educational institutions are under its general supervision.
He is also the Emir of Dawatul Haq Bangladesh and the founding editor of Al-Jamia monthly magazine, an Islamic magazine.
The footsteps of Maulana Mahmudul Hasan are also in the world of Islamic writing. He has written a detailed commentary on the entire Qur’an. He has written more than two hundred books.

There are very few scholars in Bangladesh at this time who are equal to Maulana Mahmudul Hasan in spiritual pursuits. He has received spiritual caliphate from Shah Abrarul Haq, Shaykh Sayyid Yusuf Hashem Refai, Shaykh Sayyid Mahmud Hashem Refai, Shaykh Ishaq Siddiqui, Shaykh Daulat Ali, Maulana Abdul Mannan, and Allama Ahmad Shafi.
His passion and profession is the propagation of Islam, the development of madrasa education, the teaching and writing of hadiths. His countless students, disciples and devotees are scattered throughout the country.

It is known that after the death of Allama Ahmad Shafi on the night of September 18, who will be the Ameer of Hifazat-e-Islam, Muhtamim of Hathazari Madrasa and the Chairman of the Board of Education Qaumi Madrasa of Bangladesh. After being elected to this position, they all accepted him unanimously.
After the death of Maulana Nuruddin Ahmad Gaharpuri, President of BEFAC in 2005, Ahmed Shafi was elected President of BEFAC that same year. At the time of his death, he served as the president of Befaq.
At the same time, constitutionally, he was appointed president of BEFAC in 2016, president of the renowned government Al-Hayatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmia.
According to the constitution of ‘Al-Hayatul Uliya Lil Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh’, the president of BEFAC will be the president of Al-Hayatul Uliya. As such, Maulana Mahmudul Hasan is the next president of Al Hayatul Uliya.
