Nurul Haque Nur, former vice president of the Dhaka University (Daksu) Central Student Union, said the government was declaring it undesirable and announcing a new convening committee called the ‘General Council for the Protection of the Rights of Bangladesh Students’ . “We have nothing to say about this,” he told the Bengali Tribune at noon on Thursday (October 15). We don’t care. The government is really doing it. In fact, they are doing these things under the patronage of the ruling party.
Nurul Haque Nur, joint coordinator of the Bangladesh General Council for the Protection of Student Rights, formed during the quota reform movement, told the Bengali Tribune: “Those who gave press conferences in the press club are not members. We have seen live that one of those who is there is the general secretary of the united general student society, a movement for a ‘working age limit of 35’. Some we do not even know them. There, APM Suhel was in the Student Rights Council. But last May he was fired for participating in undisciplined activities. So they are not part of the organization. “
He said: “We started the quota reform movement as the General Council for the Protection of Student Rights of Bangladesh. After that move, as we move towards a political process, we have changed the name to ‘Bangladesh Student Rights Council’. Now, if someone claims with the previous name, it is not our consideration. Even then one can organize. We have nothing to say about it. We don’t care. The government is really doing it. They are actually doing these things under the auspices of the ruling party. “
It is worth mentioning that the joint coordinator of the Student Rights Council Muhammad Rashed Khan and the former vice president of Dakshur Nurul Haque Nur have been declared “undesirable” and a new convocation committee of 22 members of the same organization has been announced. They made the announcement at a press conference at the National Press Club on Thursday (October 15). They announced the new convening committee under the name “General Council for the Protection of Student Rights of Bangladesh”.
