Independent Deputy of Faridpur-4 constituency Mujibur Rahman aka Nixon Chowdhury
Mujibur Rahman, aka Nixon Chowdhury, an independent MP from the Faridpur-4 constituency, resumed talks after violating the code of conduct, intimidating, abusing, and threatening government officials in midterm elections. On this occasion, he has made several comments on the corruption of administration officials. He also addressed the administrative officials of his district as “thieves.”
Nixon Chowdhury said: ‘Go to the land office today, there will be no work without money. Going to the upazila will not work without bribery. When it comes to working for 10 rupees, the thieves steal 5 rupees and give it to Raikha. There are thieves not only in this police station but throughout the country. Today the thieves have gathered, the thieves’ association.
Nixon said this at a memorial meeting at Charbhadrasan in Faridpur on Friday. He also claimed that he couldn’t be stopped by a box or rope. “I can’t stop with a lawsuit, hanging myself,” Nixon said. Nixon Chowdhury fears no one but God above and people below. There will be a fight, there will be a fight even if you want to know. In this struggle, the people who broke the Charbhadrasana will show the whole country, they are the nation of heroes, the nation of struggle, the nation of freedom fighters, they fear no one.
Speaking as the keynote guest at a memorial service organized by the Upazila Awami League on the occasion of the first anniversary of the death of the late Upazila President Mosharraf Hossain, in front of the Charbhadrasan Awami League office, Nixon said: build roads, sewers and buildings. Development must also make the work of people in government offices easy and transparent. At that moment, when he asked the Prime Minister for justice for the corruption in these offices, thousands of people present chanted ‘I want justice, I want justice’.
The meeting was chaired by Anwar Ali Mollah, former Deputy Secretary of the Charbhadrasan Upazila Awami League. Also present were Kazi Shafiqur Rahman, President of Sadarpur Upazila Parishad, Shahadat Hossain, former President of Bhanga Upazila Parishad and Nazneen Khanam, Officer in Charge of Charbhadrasan Police Station.
Incidentally, on the day of Upazila Parishad’s by-elections in Charbhadrasan on October 10, Nixon Chowdhury called UNO and insulted an executive magistrate and called the deputy commissioner a racekar. The Electoral Commission (EC) filed a case with the Charbhadrasan police station on October 15 for the incident. In the case brought by the EC, Nixon Chowdhury was charged with violating the code of conduct in by-elections, intimidating government officials, abusing and threatening.
