Police arrested a caretaker from Siddhirganj Mizmiji Kandapara of Narayanganj for allegedly raping his two teenage sisters.

The man, identified as Abu Bakkar, 48, was arrested after police knocked down the door of an empty apartment in a residential building around 12:15 p.m. Monday. Abu Bakr worked as a caretaker in that residential building.

It is alleged that the owner of the building, businessman Jahangir, hid it in an apartment in his house after hearing the arrival of the police. Jahangir, the owner of the house, is said to have run away after the incident.

The victim’s father alleged that even though the rape incident took place on October 5, he was delaying with the guarantee of a settlement.

He said he works in a decoration store. One of his daughters is 11 years old and the other 13 years old. He wore the two girls in local hosiery.

On October 5, he was walking around the area without coming home from work at night. While wandering in front of Jahangir’s house, the house keeper, Abu Bakkar, asked the two girls the reason for the wandering, lured them into the house and raped them. Many nights when they come home, the girls open the next day.

When he went to the Siddhirganj Police Station that night, the police officers told him to come the next day as there was no senior officer at the station. When the matter came to light later, Monir, the son of a local Rahim member, briefed Jahangir on the matter and pressured him to resolve it.

But at one stage in Talbahana on Monday, youth in the area found out about the matter and reported it to the police and went to arrest Abu Bakkar. Seeing the strange situation, the owner Jahangir hid his caretaker Abu Bakkar in an empty apartment on the fourth floor. After much searching, the police found him, knocked down the door to the apartment, arrested Abu Bakkar and took him to the police station. At that moment, realizing the opportunity, owner Jahangir also ran away.

Siddhirganj Police Station OC Omar Farooq confirmed the arrest and said: “After preliminary questioning, we will learn about the whole incident.”
