Saudi Arabia’s new ambassador, Isa bin Youssef Al-Duhailan, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Ganobhaban on Thursday.

After the meeting, the prime minister’s press secretary, Ihsanul Karim, told reporters.

The prime minister said that 560 model mosques with Islamic cultural centers are being built at the upazila level with the help of Saudi Arabia.

The Prime Minister also recalled the development of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Saudi cooperation.

Sheikh Hasina emphasized sending agricultural workers to Saudi Arabia, the largest labor market in Bangladesh.

Al-Duhailan said that more than 1.5 million Bangladeshis are working in various sectors in Saudi Arabia. They are working hard and making a great contribution to the Saudi economy.

He also expressed the interest of Saudi businessmen in investing in Bangladesh and urged Bangladeshi businessmen to invest in Saudi Arabia.

The oil-rich country’s ambassador said: “There is huge potential for investment in Saudi Arabia and we will provide full cooperation to Bangladeshi businessmen in this regard.”

The Saudi ambassador also praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s dynamic leadership at the time, the press secretary said.

Sheikh Hasina said that Saudi Arabia has a special place in the hearts of Bangladeshis. The relationship between the two countries is traditional and Bangladesh has always valued this relationship.

The Saudi ambassador expressed his hope that relations between the two countries would deepen and strengthen under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

He said that bilateral cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh will continue in areas such as economy, security and manpower.

The Prime Minister welcomed the new Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh and promised full cooperation in his tenure in Bangladesh.

There was also talk of the coronavirus epidemic, the press secretary said.

The secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, Tofazzal Hossain Mia, was present during the meeting.

Later, Bhutan’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Rinchen Quentsil, also visited Ganobhaban and paid a courtesy visit to the prime minister, Ihsanul Karim said.
