In the morning, the BCL and Juba League held protest processions in different parts of the city. Activists from the Nagar Juba League and the Paienen Thana Chhatra League took up positions at Chittagong airport. In addition, the leaders and activists of the Nagar Chhatra League took position at the corner of the Oxygen from noon.
The Chhatra League of Chittagong University (CU) blocked the road near the main gate at noon. They later lifted the blockade and took positions in the Fatehabad area.
In the afternoon, Omargani MES College Chhatra League organized a protest procession at the GEC corner of the city. Habibur Rahman Tareq, former BCL Central Undersecretary, said in a short protest rally: “Religious businessman Mamunul Haque has made wild comments about the father of the nation. Our hearts are bleeding.” So we have announced that we will not allow him to enter Chittagong. ”
Meanwhile, there is a rumor that Mamunul Haque arrived in Hathazari on Thursday night.
But Mohammad Ahsan Ullah, secretary of Al-Amin, the organizer of the meeting, told bdnews24.com at noon that Mamunul had not had any contact with them since Thursday night.
Hefazat organizing secretary Azizul Haque Islamabadi told bdnews24.com in the afternoon: “He did not come to Hathazari or Madrasa.”
In the end, the final mahfil session took place at night without Mamunul.
Junaid Babungari said: “He (Mamunul) said: ‘There will be a mahfil without me. I’m not going. ‘You have thousands of meetings without him. Mamunul Haque did not return. He is not interested in coming. He came back on his own. Don’t narrate. Where there is chaos, there we are. The purpose of custody is to establish peace. “
Criticizing those who protested in the streets declaring resistance to Mamunul, Hefazat Amir said: “He’s gone, Khalas. Will not come. But what is the reason why some extremists set fire to his image.
“The administration consults me, talks, knows everything … then why? So why were all these atrocities committed? ”.
Babungari accused Mamunul Haque of spreading “indecent” propaganda through social media.
In demanding exemplary punishment for those who did this, he said: “We will not take the law into our own hands. The law will be with the administration of the government. I affirm that you too are harmed because of these insidious mahals.”
Hours earlier, a group of students from the pro-Mamunul madrasah clashed with police in Dhaka’s Kakrail during a protest rally in Chittagong.
Protesting against this, Babungari said: “Students who study in madrasas cannot sit if the teachers are defamed. The insidious mahal Shaykhul Hadith has called Allama Azizul Haque a Razakar. He is the guardian of God. For these reasons, the younger students have taken out the procession. Those students have been arrested again.
“The administration and the government have understood everything. We are not enemies of the Prime Minister. The enemies of apostate atheist scholars are sitting on their shoulders. Students who have marched to protect the dignity of their teachers must be released within 24 hours of their arrest. ”
If those “innocent children” are not released within 24 hours, Babungari threatens a difficult program.
The local administration also has to be vigilant throughout the day with the announcement to resist this mahfil and Mamunul.
Hathazari UN Ruhul Amin told bdnews24.com in response to a question: “We had discussions with the organizers. I said there could be tension over the presence of Mr. Mamunul Haque.
“We have no information that he came to Hathazari after that. Ameer Mahfil from Hefazat has said that he (Mamunul Haque) will not make a statement. Everyone has heard this speech live. We also listened.”
