A young woman has alleged that she was raped by a UP president while seeking justice in a case related to a transaction in Dhaka’s Savar.

On Sunday, the victim filed a case against the accused President Ashulia UP and three other people. The court learned of the case and ordered the Police Investigation Bureau (PBI) to investigate and take legal action.

The defendants in the case are the late Wahab Madbar from the Tongibari area of ​​Ashulia and the President of Ashulia UP, Md. Shahabuddin Madbar (50), his brother-in-law, son of the late Halim Madbar in the same area. Alamgir, 38, and Sabuj Sikder, 35, son of Abul Sikder, personal assistant to the president.

According to the victim, the president of Ashulia Union Parishad Md. On a matter related to the transaction with a relative on September 22. The young woman went to Shahabuddin Madbar to seek justice. Subsequently, the victim went home without calling the president of the union council. At that time, the president advised the victim to present a case in court.

Later, on the way back from the president’s house, the young woman made false accusations to the president, alleging that her brother-in-law Md. Alamgir and his personal assistant Sabuj Sikder forcibly took the girl and her relatives away. The two were kept separate in two rooms at the Union Parishad.

Later, the president entered the room and forcibly raped the girl. It was also alleged in the case that his brother-in-law Alamgir and PS Sabuj also tried to rape the girl after the president left the room. After the incident, the defendants released the girl and her relatives on the condition of keeping the rape secret.

The case also alleges that the victim filed a written complaint with the Ashulia police station after being raped, but the police did not register her case. He was forced to take refuge in court.

When asked about it, Ashulia Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ziaur Rahman said: “I am not aware of the matter. I do not know if such a complaint was filed at the police station.” The matter must be investigated.

Note that Ashulia Union Parishad President. Shahabuddin Madbar has been sued on various charges, including extortion. Although the case was presented using the victims’ complaints, the identity of the ruling political party and personal influence, the public representative repeatedly avoided arrest.
