The scammers stole Tk 51,000 from the development number of a Rajshahi Government New Degree College college student. He informed the police about the matter. Then, on the advice of the police, he began to act in love with the cheater on his mobile phone. When love froze, the cheater came to Rajshahi from Faridpur to meet the college student. The scammer and one of his accomplices were caught in a police trap at the time.

Those arrested are Hasan Khan (19) from Jangalpasha Madhyapara in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur and Mahmud Hasan alias Bayezid (19) from Jangalpasha Purbpara village.

Police said they were professional scammers. They tampered with Bikash’s PIN number with a mobile phone call. Then withdraw the development money. Rajshahi Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police arrested them at the Laxmipur junction in Rajshahi city on Sunday afternoon when they went to meet a college student caught in love. 6,000 rupees have been recovered from them.

DB Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Abu Ahmed Al Mamun confirmed the matter and said a call came from an unknown number on the victim’s mobile phone on November 16. That person was the trickster Hasan Khan. However, he introduced himself as that student’s college professor. He said the government is awarding scholarships to students through development in Corona. But the number to which the scholarship will be sent must have at least 50 lakhs for development. Then the government will send money to this number. Hearing this, the student spoke to his tutor and deposited Tk 50,000 for development. Apart from this, he already had some money for its development. After depositing money into the student’s development, the scammer Hasan tactfully found out his PIN number. Then he removed Rs 51,000 from student development. After realizing the fraud, the student sought the cooperation of the DB police.

DC Police Detective Abu Ahmed Al Mamun said: “After hearing everything, I advised the student to continue talking to the cheater from another number. As we have not spoken much before, he may not understand. This strategy worked. Al The next day the girl started talking to him from another number. The cheater did not recognize the girl. The cheater was more interested in talking than the girl. He also agreed to offer love to the girl. Thereafter, he continued to act with love and to us kept updated. In these 12 days, love is frozen. ‘

Abu Ahmed Al Mamun added that following his advice, the student called the cheater to meet him. In response to the call, Hasan arrived at the Laxmipur corner of Rajshahi city on Sunday with another accomplice. Members of the DB police were already in ambush here dressed in white. Police caught the two cheaters just to meet the college student.

The DC police detectives said a total of Tk 6,000 were found in the possession of the two during the arrest. The victim’s father has filed a case against them under the Digital Security Act at the Rajpara police station in the city. They were sent to jail through court Monday after showing arrest in the case.
