Fishermen have rescued a dying woman from the Kirtankhola River. After the rescue, under the supervision of a local UP member, he was kept at the home of the jailer Alam Chowkidar in the village of Makram Pratap at the Charmonai junction of Sadar upazila adjacent to the Kirtankhola River. The woman slipped and fell into the river on Saturday (November 14) around 10 pm while crossing the Charmonai area of the Sundarbans-10 Kirtankhola River bound for Dhaka.

Falguni, his mother and aunt were the passengers on the deck of the MV Sundarbans-10 launch bound for Dhaka from the river port of Barisal at 9 pm on Saturday.

The woman was rescued from the river and protected by Alam Chowkidar’s neighbor, Md. According to Kalam, two people, including Alam Chowkidar, were fishing at the Charmonai Point of the Kirtankhola River. Suddenly he saw a man eating habudubu in the river. Moving closer, I rescued a woman wearing a salwar kameez and informed the local UP member. After becoming a bit normal, the woman said her name was Falguni. He slipped and fell into the river while washing his feet behind the boat.
