Several stories are being published after the arrest of Delwar and Badal, the notorious housewives of Begumganj in Noakhali.
Delwar’s boss, Delwar, was arrested with weapons and ammunition in the Chittagong Road area below the Siddhirganj Police Station in Narayanganj around 2.30pm on Sunday. According to information provided by the arrested Delwar, Badal, the main defendant in the tragic incident, was arrested in the Kamrangichar area of Dhaka around 5:30 am.
Meanwhile, a source from RAB-11 said that during the preliminary interrogation of the detainees, the defendant demanded money by stripping the housewife and recording the torture scene on his mobile phone. The video was spread online because they didn’t pay.
On the other hand, RAB-11 additional police superintendent Jasim Uddin said: “We have discovered from the investigation in the Eklaspur area of the Noakhali Begumganj area that the victim was married about 15 years ago.” The woman had lost contact with her husband due to her second marriage and was staying with her father. But as her relationship with her husband improved a few months ago, her husband began to come to her house.
The way the perpetrators conspire
The arrested Badal and Delwar said in preliminary questioning that they already had a grudge against the woman. But they could not accept the matter when the husband began to come and go. As a result, they draw a plan for the event to occur.
On September 2, Delwar’s forces falsely accused the housewife of adultery, claiming that she was a stranger to meet her husband. Brutal torture and video recording of her tied husband continued.
The following day, Delwar’s forces detained the entire family of the woman in the house and threatened to release the video and kill her so that the matter would not be known. A few days later, they began demanding money from the woman’s family. In addition, for a month they were giving him an immoral proposal saying that they would broadcast the video. The video was released at one point when she disagreed with the unethical proposal.
Additional Police Superintendent Jasim Uddin said the victim’s housewife brought a case against 19 people 33 days after the incident at around 1:00 pm on October 4. In addition, another case by video broadcast has been registered.
Later, the woman filed a case at the Begumganj Police Station. Citing the case, OC Harunur Rashid said the woman was staying at her father’s house in Eklashpur Union District 9 due to a marital dispute. After a long day, her husband came to meet her on September 2.
At around 9 pm that day, the defendant broke down the door of his house and beat the woman’s husband and tied him up in another adjoining room. Later, they tried to rape the woman by undressing her. When prevented from doing so, the defendant tortured him and began recording the scene on his mobile phone. When people in the area came forward yelling at the woman, the defendant threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
The woman then took refuge in her sister’s home in Maijdi in the district city without informing anyone. There, too, the defendant contacted him through his mobile phone and made him a ‘bad offer’. If they disagree, they threatened to post that night’s video on Facebook, according to the lawsuit.
As the woman disagreed with his words, the defendant posted the video on Facebook on Sunday afternoon and it went viral.
Lawyer Mohammad asked the court on Monday morning if the local administration was negligent in the incident and ordered the BTRC to remove the video from social media. Abdullah Al Mamun.
The court asked him to bring a written request and summon him at 2:30 p.m. The court approved the order after a hearing at noon.
