Pressure beard on the face, garland on the neck. This is the suit of the fired SI Akbar Hossain, the main defendant in Raihan’s murder. The Khasias tied him with ropes around his legs and waist.

While fleeing to India, the Khasia detained him at the Dona border in Kanaighat upazila, on the border with Sylhet. It was later handed over to others, including a Bangladeshi cattle trader. Then he was arrested in the border area.

19 BGB Lt. Captain Colonel Rafiqul Islam PSC confirmed the matter.

According to local sources, local Khasias saw Akbar wandering the Dona de Silchar slum in Meghalaya, India on Sunday night.

A local source said, on condition of anonymity, that SI Akbar remained in Dona’s camp after her arrest. The Khasia later handed it over to some locals, including a Bangladeshi cattle dealer. At that time, Akbar’s condition was terrible.

As can be seen in the viral video of the arrest, he said his name was Akbar in response to a question from the Indian Khasias.

“You kill people for only 10,000 rupees,” Akbar replied when Khasias rebuked him. “I didn’t kill,” Akbar replied.

The Khasias also said they had seen the video of Raihan’s murder online.

Akbar said a senior official advised him to flee to India.

The sacked SI wanted to know for what crime Raihan was killed He said, ‘I didn’t kill brother, I didn’t kill just on purpose. 5-6 people hit the wire. The audience hit and died. I’d rather take him to the hospital. But there he died. He took my money.

At that moment, another local said: ‘And he took his life?’

Akbar replied, “Brother, we didn’t know, but we took him to the hospital.”

Meanwhile, upon hearing the news of Akbar’s arrest, a large crowd gathered in Kanaighat at noon. Around 4.30pm, the police went to the Sylhet District Super Police Office with strict security.

When word spread that Akbar was being brought to Sylhet, a crowd gathered in front of the Super Police Office at night. There, the crowd began chanting slogans demanding exemplary punishment for Akbar. As soon as they arrived in front of the Police Superintendent’s office with Akbar around 6 pm, a group of policemen cordoned off Akbar and took him inside the office.

At the time, the photographers were not allowed to crowd. Then Akbar covered his face with a sheet.

Later, Police Superintendent Farid Uddin urged the crowd to remain calm and said that Akbar’s trial would be carried out in accordance with the law. Keep calm and be patient.

On October 10, Raihan was taken to the Bandarbazar police post and tortured. He died on October 11 after being transferred to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
