The police arrested Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, the main suspect in the murder case of Raihan Ahmed, who was tortured to death at the Bandarbazar police post in Sylhet.

The Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) and the Bureau of Investigation (PBI), the body investigating the case, said Akbar was detained by civilians in the village of Khasia within the border with India.
