A BBC investigation has revealed that women are undergoing controversial “virginity tests” at various UK medical centers.
Journalists from the BBC’s 100 Women and Newsbeat division have discovered that several private clinics in Britain are involved in the business. They advertise to ‘restore virginity’ and when contacted they say the so-called virginity test will cost between থেকে 150 and ৩ 300.
The BBC has identified 21 such clinics. Of these, 18 clinics were contacted by BBC journalists, seven of whom confirmed that they had “virginity tests.” They did not clearly explain what the others did.

“My relationship with my parents was a very emotionally abusive relationship. They wanted me to marry the boy they had arranged,” she said.
The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations have called for such tests to be carried out as a violation of human rights.
Critics say the test is unscientific and cannot confirm whether a girl is a virgin. This test can also be used as a torture tool.
