The victim’s homemaker reported the gang rape incident to the court while her husband was detained in the dormitory at Sylhet MC College.

The Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Prosecutor’s Office) confirmed the information and said that the police brought the housewife to court from Osmani Medical College Hospital at noon. It is worth mentioning that a couple from South Surma in Sylhet went to visit MC College last Friday afternoon. At that time, 5-6 young people from the university campus took the couple to the university residence by force. The 19-year-old housewife was gang-raped while keeping her husband in a room there.
The Shahparan Police rescued the housewife around 10:30 pm and admitted her to the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, the police arrested the main defendant Saifur Rahman and the number four defendant Arjun Laskar on Sunday morning in the gang rape case.
Among them, the main defendant, Saifur, was arrested in the Chhatak border area of Sunamganj and Arjun Laskar of Madhabpur de Habiganj.
Chhatak Police Station Officer-in-Charge (CO) Mizanur Rahman said that a police team led by SI Habibur Rahman from Chhatak Police Station arrested Saifur on the basis of secret information as he fled through the area. adjacent to the Chhatak Ferry.
On the other hand, Madhabpur OC Police Station (investigation) Golam Dastagir confirmed that Arjun Laskar was arrested in the Mantala border area in Madhabpur Upazila in Habiganj this morning.
Earlier, the victim’s husband had filed a case at the city’s Shahparan Police Station on Saturday morning charging three other unidentified people, including six mentioned in the incident.
The other four defendants in the case are Mahbubur Rahman Rony, Tareq, Rabiul Islam and Mahfuzur Rahman. The other three in the case have been shown as unidentified defendants. All of the defendants are said to be involved in BCL politics.
After the incident, the police launched an operation to catch the accused. Police also recovered a pipe gun, four Ramdas, a knife and two iron pipes from Saifur’s room around 2 a.m. Friday.
