A young man named Khoka Mia (30) has raped a tenant widow (35) more than once in Narayanganj port. Shiuli Nowshad, a reserved Nasik councilor, fined the rapist 60,000 taka in a rural arbitration. According to locals, Khoka Mia, the son of a landlord, raped a widow, a mother of three, in the Darisonakanda area of the Narayanganj City Corporation port. At one point, Sunday night, Khoka raped again against the widow’s will. The widow informed local dignitaries about the incident that night. Later, rapist Khoka Mia’s mother took refuge with Shiuli Nowshad, a reserved councilor from Nasik’s 19th, 20th and 21st districts to solve the problem locally.
On Monday night, Shiuli Nowshad, a councilor, held an arbitration hearing at her residence. In arbitration, Councilor Shiuli Nowshad fined rapist Khoka 60,000 rupees and handed down the verdict.
The raped woman said: “Khoka, the owner’s son, used to annoy me since they rented the house. At one point he showed me the temptation to marry and build a physical relationship. The physical relationship is closed due to delayed marriage. Khoka was raped. on Sunday evening. The matter was reported locally. Councilor Shiuli Upper was fined 70,000 taka on Monday evening. After a month, despite being asked to pay, Matabbara took a signature from me in a White paper.
When contacted by Councilor Shiuli Nowshad, he said: “I did not referee. The people of the panchayat are doing it. However, the referee has been at my house. When asked who was present at the panchayat, he said, “Brother, I will call you later.” But he didn’t call until the report was written.
The OC Port Police said. Fakhruddin Bhuiyan said: “I did not know about the incident of the rape of a widow.” Action will be taken if any complaints are received.
