The United States has blocked a vote on a UN Security Council resolution calling for a global outbreak of the coronavirus. The United States has shelved the proposal due to the ongoing conflict with the World Health Organization (WHO), according to a News18 report, citing diplomatic sources.
The UN Security Council has been working on the proposal since last March. If the resolution had been adopted on Friday, the Security Council could have called for the concerted end to hostilities in the world. But it was thwarted by the United States.
A UN diplomat said the proposal was being prepared for use by the Security Council on Friday. But before it could be raised, the United States blocked it. The United States has taken that position because of Trump’s recent comments about the World Health Organization.
The United States and China have disagreed for some time about the origin of the crown. Trump claims that the coronavirus originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China. The United States has said that no evidence has been produced in this regard.
China has accused the United States of spreading lies in response to Trump’s accusations. Tensions are high between the two countries on the issue. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has been saying for some time that the crown did not originate from a laboratory in China, but that the virus was created.
However, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is not satisfied with the position of the World Health Organization. He has cut the United States’ funds to the UN body. Accusing the company of working for China, he said his negligence had not stopped the global spread of the virus.
