A teacher named Tarekur Rahman has been accused of raping a seventh grade student at a Chauddagram training center in Comilla. The matter came to light when the student became pregnant after being raped more than once.
On Sunday (October 4), the victim’s father filed a lawsuit against five people, including the accused teacher, in Comilla Court 3 for Repression of Abuse of Women and Children. Judge No. 3 of the Court for the Repression of the Abuse of Women and Children. After a detailed hearing of the complaints, Rafiqul Islam learned of the case and ordered the Chauddagram Police Station to investigate and arrest the accused.
This information has been confirmed by the plaintiff’s lawyer, lawyer Nishat Salauddin.
The accused teacher Tarequr Rahman is the son of the late Rezaur Rahman Chowdhury from the village of Laxmipur in the Alkara union of Chauddagram upazila.
In the case it was alleged that the accused teacher Tareq was a cousin of the schoolgirl. The accused teacher Tarekur raped the student on the pretext of studying at the training center after the holidays. At that time she kept a photo of the rape. Later, Tarekur raped the student several more times for fear of spreading these images on the Internet.
On April 24, the seventh grade student suddenly fell ill. On the advice of local doctors, they took him to a diagnostic center at the Feni district headquarters. There is a pregnancy report after performing an ultrasound.
According to the victim, Tarekur Rahman Chowdhury blackmailed and raped her more than once while studying at the training center. But she did not tell anyone about the incident for fear of public embarrassment.
Meanwhile, the student’s father informed the area dignitaries to seek justice for the rape incident. With this, it was decided at the April 30 arbitration meeting that the rapist Tarekur should marry the pregnant student. Tareq agreed and promised to marry after the baby was born. After a while, Tareq failed under pressure to ruin the baby.
On August 12, the student gave birth to a boy. But as promised before the marriage, when the arbitration meeting was held again on September 25, the rapist and his relatives refused to marry. Later, on Sunday (October 4), the victim’s father filed a rape case against five people, including Tarekur.
The other defendants in the case are Jasim Uddin from the village of Laxmipur in the Alkara union of Chauddagram upazila, Tarequr Rahman’s brother, Taufiqur Rahman, Touhidur Rahman and Ramzan Ali Bhuiyan.
Lawyer Nishat Salauddin, the plaintiffs’ lawyer, said that after a detailed hearing on the complaint, the court took notice of the case and ordered the Chauddagram police station to investigate. The judge ordered the arrest of the accused. I hope that student receives justice.
