According to sources, the National Board of Curriculum and Textbooks (NCTB) has begun work on how to continue teaching in the next phase if the school-college is closed until August or September. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has verbally instructed the NCTB to make a plan in this regard. Basically they are working on two proposals. The first is to reduce all exams this year by reducing the curriculum and optional license. And the second is to extend the academic year until February of next year. In other words, the current academic year will end in February 2021. And the next academic year will begin in March 2021.
“We have already held a meeting,” NCTB President Professor Narayan Chandra Saha told Kaler Kanth. Senior officials were present, including the Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education and the Chairman of the Dhaka Board of Education. Basically there are two proposals. But we can’t move on without an idea of when the Corona outbreak will end and when the school-college will open. But we will have more meetings.
The NCTB president added: “If the school opens in August or September, our proposal was to extend the current academic year to February of next year.” Take other exams, including annual exams in February. This will allow students to read and learn well and move on to the next class. And the next academic year will start from March 2021. Reduce various types of vacations in the next academic year and end the academic year in 10 months. But alternative proposals have also arrived. It has been said that all exams will be completed in 2020. It calls for shortening the study program and reducing the optional license. We can present the final proposal to the Ministry of Education if we know when the educational institution will open.
HSC exams and equivalents are known to begin on April 1. But the Ministry of Education was forced to suspend the test due to the new coronavirus. The tests have been postponed more than once in the previous strike lockout. But the changed date was announced on the day of the suspension. But the Ministry of Education could not announce the date of any new test since the movement of the corona virus was not understood. As a result, some 12 lakh of candidates spend the day in uncertainty. Even though SSC and equivalent results are supposed to launch in the first week of this month, it won’t.
Every year, in the month of November, the fifth class PEC final exam and the eighth class JSC final exam are held. But the educational institution has been closed for approximately two months. Although Sangsad broadcasts primary and secondary classes on television, he is not very helpful. As a result, student education is not progressing very well. In this situation, students and parents are concerned with completing the curriculum.

Fifth and eighth grade students take various types of private coaching throughout the year to earn “A Plus”. Study day and night. But this time everything is off.
