Barisal: The incident of a professor from a private institution in Barisal who was forced to sit and listen has spread through social networks. However, the organization claimed that the teacher was not working there at the time of the incident.

The video that went viral on Facebook via social media on Sunday (September 13) was reported 1 month ago.

The teacher whose video went viral is a resident of Ayla’s village in the Konakdia union of Baufal upazila in Patuakhali. From 2015 to 2016, he worked as a professor at the Jam Jam Institute in Rupatalistha, Barisal. Apart from this, he has worked in different organizations in different places including Patuakhali.

Sajjadul Haque, the institute’s executive director, said that during his latest coronation, he again took several online medical diploma classes at the institute. However, he has been asked to refrain from taking classes later.

In the viral video, it is seen that the former teacher is being made to listen and get hooked by swearing that he will not make an immoral proposal in the temptation to give the student more grades. Some voices were heard in the video but no one was seen. However, a burqa-clad student was seen in a photo alongside the viral video, but her face was not seen.

In this regard, said the victim teacher, I worked as a teacher in the Rupatali branch of the Zamzam Institute. Various courses related to healthcare are taught at the institute, including courses in medical technology. I was a teacher in the department of Mats. I quit my job at that company in 2016. However, I did take some online classes as a part-time teacher in March during the Coronation.

He added that while teaching at the institution, he had a dispute with some students. Among them were Emon and his wife Monira. They skipped classes and paid no attention to studies. They are asked to pay attention to their studies. But they did not listen and were sometimes pressured by their outside friends to get good marks on the reverse test. Also, Emon never greeted me. Some high school students berated Emon for this. However, I didn’t have a headache from not saying hello. Even then Emon was mad at me.

The victim’s teacher said: “On August 28, Emon and 7-8 of his friends blocked my way in the area adjacent to Hatem Ali College.” Then they took my cell phone and the motorcycle keys. From there they forcibly took me to the Oxford Mission Road area. Then they took me from there to Cemetery Road and beat me. At the time, Emon had between 6 and 7 youngsters with him. One had a stick in his hand. My nose was blown off by his fatal blow. At one point in the beating, Emon grabbed my ear and made me sit up. Then Emon made me say something. They are stored on a mobile phone.

Sajjadul Haque, executive director of the Zamzam Institute, said: “Our former teacher was detained somewhere in the city and tortured by some students.” The incident happened 1 month ago, but I saw the video 4/5 days ago. After talking to the teacher, he claimed his innocence.
